Macau, the casino haven only a short ferry trip from Hong Kong, offers a bizarre blend of Portuguese and Chinese culture. Casinos, fine dining, luxury hotel, and craft cocktails are plentiful here — be warned, however, that there is no real gay scene to speak of. Previously the only gay bar in Macau, Boom Bar, could be found on Taipa Island, and it was not a stretch to call this the heart and soul of Gay Macau since there is absolutely no competition.
